Morfa Dyffryn is a spectacular National Nature Reserve with natural sand dune system offering a view of Penllyn, a glance of Enlli and a long beach of golden sand. The sand dune system expands from Afon Ysgethin in the south to Afon Artro in the north - which is about 7km in length and developed on the coast of Cardigan Bay in Ardudwy. Unlike many other sand dunes in Wales Morfa Dyffryn dunes are very dynamic. The front dunes are steep, with many gaps which allow wind to break through to the site and change the shape frequently- and bury much of the old habitats. That's why the dunes are so bare and open, without any growth apart from a little sea-grass, and young plants and habitats that are very rare in Wales.
